July 5th, 2008 - Important Changes for Electric Sage
Please note our new contact information, including a 24/7/365 tech support number for our hosting customers. Electric Sage is now taking on only selected clients on a consulting basis. Please contact us if you need recommendations for reliable, competant web design companies in Durango Colorado. We continue to provide website and e-mail hosting services, and are undergoing a revamp of GoDurango.com, our ad-supported site for people who love Durango. Stay tuned! Oh, and check out Dan's personal site to see some cute baby pics and stay in touch!
November 23rd, 2007 - New email settings
We have just made some significant changes to our mail server infrastructure. These settings only apply if you currently use Electric Sage as your email provider. If you have a company email server, or use email from your ISP, please disregard this notice. The new email servers require the following changes in your email client software:
- Both POP & IMAP methods are now supported for accessing email. Mailboxes are 250mb each. We also have an exceptional new product available called Business Pro Email with SyncSuite which gives you multi-gig mailboxes, syncing with Outlook or mobile devices, and shared calendars/notes/tasks/contacts across your organization. For more information, visit the SyncSuite website and contact us for an upgrade.
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.mydomain.com (for example, if your domain name is superweb.com, your incoming server will be mail.superweb.com).
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.mydomain.com (same as incoming). The outgoing port can be 25 or 1025 (some ISP's don't allow you to use port 25). Be sure to check "my outgoing server requires authentication" and "use same settings as incoming")
- Account Login/ID: myemailaccount.mydomain.com (for example, if your email address is joe123@superweb.com, your account login for your email client software will be joe123.superweb.com)
- Password: same as current
- Webmail: open a web browser & go to http://webmail.mydomain.com (for example, if your domain is superweb.com, you'd go to http://webmail.superweb.com). Login with your email address and password.
- Spam/Virus Protection: spam & virus settings are now directly integrated into the webmail client. To modify your junk email settings, click on "Preferences" then "Spam Preferences" to adjust your settings.

Greetings fellow humans. First and foremost, I'd like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. I'm pleased to announce the launch of the following sites we've completed recently: Ecosphere Environmental Services, an environmental consulting firm in Colorado, contracted us to design a new site that they could manage in-house, and that would better reflect their corporate identity. We've also just launched a site for noted Alexandria VA coaching & consulting guru Dr. Christina Richardson. Tina's site includes a blog and like most of our sites it includes simple content management features. We've also had the privilege of adding an online donation feature to the website of the National Alliance for Taxicab Justice. We're looking forward to working more with the NAFTJ in the future. Have a great November!

Happy Fall from Electric Sage. It is Fall right? From the temperature here in the swamplands of the Potomac, you wouldn't know it! Luckily, we've been busy working on some exciting projects such as a full web redesign & implementation of a memeber management database for the WateReuse Association & Foundation. This project marries Drupal, our favored content management system, with CiviCRM, a powerful open source contact relationship manager. We're thrilled to be working with such a great organization using these technologies.

In the news - we're happy to announce the launch of Club Alley, Long Island's Music Scene. In partnership with the client, we developed a site that allows artists to create "myspace"-like profiles with photos and mp3s. We integrated a simple paypal shopping cart to allow ticket purchase online. Club Alley is an ad-supported site, and we currently have configured it to show content from Google using Adsense.
Club Alley is able to edit every part of their website, including text, photos and audio files. We're excited to have been a part of this dynamic, fun site!
Other recent work - we've redesigned Colorado Springs Real Estate - Make Your Best Move. We helped develop this site over 4 years, and a lot has changed in the web world since then. The new site has a clean look, and allows full content management via the Drupal content management system. The client can manage listings, testimonials, photos and nearly every piece of content on the site.

Dave, Cherian & Carly are still at our same location in Durango, while Dan is Sage'ing along in Old Town Alexandria.
